Herriman Basement Finish

We will take your cold, unfinished basement and...

...Utilize the space, the best possible way
...Do what we can to brighten a dark stairway
...Put an archway through a load bearing wall to open up the space
... Add plenty of recessed lighting so it doesnt feel like a basement

...Create a bathroom worthy of a master suite.
So give us a chance and like the Hanks family
You wont be let down.

Here is an actual letter from Lorin Hanks, the homeowner who's basement you have just seen:

A few years ago my wife and I bought a new house with an unfinished basement. Recently the day came when we needed to finish the basement (to raise value in the home so we could refinance). My wife and I researched different companies. Subsequently, we had 3 different companies come give us a quote. Pearson Remodeling’s price beat the closest competitor by a few thousand dollars. Yes, we picked Pearson Remodeling purely on price. Then we crossed our fingers… I hear horror stories all the time about these construction guys not showing up or taking forever. I stressed for nothing. The Pearson brothers were here every single day they were scheduled. In fact if they were going to be late because they had to pick up supplies, we were notified accordingly. At the end of the work day they even said goodbye. The project lasted exactly as long as they as they had predicted. It went quickly. However that’s not why I’m writing this review. The main reason I’d recommend Pearson Remodeling is because my wife and I were thrilled with the work that took place. I can’t speak of one single thing that I didn’t like. In fact I even insisted they do a few extra things (like make chord holes for my wall mount flat screen). They did it. Then they set up the TV then showed me how the wall mount system worked! Bottom line, I personally vouch for these guys. Honest, hard working, timely and efficient.

Sincerely,

Lorin & Abby Hanks

A Word To The Wise (or is it from the wise?)

In the years that I have been doing remodeling I have learned a lot.  If you or anyone you know is thinking of remodeling, read or have them read this post before going through with the remodel.
You get what you pay for!
Remember this, if you are looking to do remodeling in your home and you are looking for the cheapest price possible, DON'T.
Price shopping will get you two things.
One- a sub-par contractor; what do you think they do to lower the price? They cut corners and use "cheap" labor (usually un-documented workers).  In past experience the contractor who does this gives you a price up front and then when the money runs out they either ask you for more money or they pull off and leave you high and dry.
Two- Not always but usually the contractor who does it for less, gets his final payment and that is the last thing you'll hear from him.  What happens when your brand new bathroom or kitchen starts having issues?  Do you think you will be able to get him to come out and take care of the problem? NO!  He knows that he cut corners and do you think that if he didn't take the time to do it right the first time that he will want to come back and do it again at his cost? Good luck on that one.

At  Pearson Remodeling, we never settle for anything but the best.  We take the time to do it right the first time, and on the off chance that something starts having issues, we will be happy to take care of anything.  We don't give estimates, we give promises.  When we give you a price, that is the price.  Even when there are unforeseen issues.  We have the experience to know what to look for in the pricing process so there usually aren't unforeseen issues and when there are, we take the burden, not you.
Our prices may not, in fact they will not, be the cheapest but trust me, the price will be well worth it in the end.  The high caliber of quality of workmanship and materials will more than pay off in the end.
Be Aware of the, "Cover it up bathroom"!
You have heard of it and because I don't want to get sued I wont be using any names. Cover it up for less!  In a very recent experience we bid on a job that the homeowners received an estimate from one of these companies.  To make a long story short, our price came in about 40 percent less.  Our price included everything and the other one only covered certain things. Other things would have had to be taken care of by the homeowner.  Think about it, if you remodel your bathroom, do you want to have someone come in in one or two days and cover everything up?  No way!  Not in my house anyways.  When we do a full bathroom remodel, we come in and gut it and start from new.  Wouldn't you feel better knowing that the disgusting bathtub that you wanted to get rid of is at the landfill and not underneath a shell in your new(ish) bathroom?

Now I know that there are a lot of good contractors out there, But there are also a lot of bad ones.  When you are deciding on a contractor do your homework.  Ask for references, look at photos of past work.  If you don't feel right about someone, trust your instincts, run!  The purpose of this post is not to scare you, just to inform you.  Remember get it done right the first time, and most important,  You get what you pay for.

Our Past Kitchens

These are just a few kitchens we've done in the past. We really pride ourselves
on taking the time to make sure everything looks just right.
Its your home and you shouldn't have to settle for anything but the Best.

This kitchen used to have soffit cielings throughout.  With some added cost, soffits can usually be removed, raising the cieling, adding more cabinet space and a more open feel.

In this kitchen, there were many walls removed.  Opening up the kitchen to
the living areas of the home really makes entertaining fun.  The island not only adds
tons of seating but it is also a great home for under-counter double ovens
and a beautiful Wolf stove.

This Sugarhouse bungalow goes to show that no matter how small
the kitchen, you can really add tons of storage space by
going with custom cabinets, built to fit the space.

Adding white custom painted cabinets to this 12 foot by 12 foot kitchen
makes the space feel much larger without the removal of walls.

On this project, the homeowner really went all out by doing a 2x16 foot addition
on the stove wall.  We also removed a dropped cieling and did 600 square feet
of tile throughout the main floor.

Cottonwood Heights Great Room

On this project we removed the wall between the kitchen and
living room. It really opens up the space making it
perfect for entertaining!

We removed the wall and added a handrail.

In the backsplash we've added windows, really flooding the
entire area with natural light.

Adding a raised bar to the island adds tons of extra seating.

Looking into the "pool table room" from the kitchen.
The heated slate floor adds character and makes
this space great for hanging out.

Kaysville Two-Story

This is what you can expect to find when you
tear out a dropped ceiling in a two-story home.

Wires, wires, and more wires!

Granite tops, knotty alder cabinets, and recessed lighting

A home for the referigerator

The new peninsula

The start to finish time on this project was 4 weeks
